Approaching now the 40th anniversary of my class I often wonder about those people, those memory tabs, and wish that more of them would leave notes or even supply their photos as I have on this site. I guess I would like to test my recognition skills. My only 'claim to fame' if one could call it that, was my interest in carving board chalk often from each teachers' room that I attended. Sure I was in the art production class in my senior year and my closest friend in this class was Debbie Harris. At the time Monroe was undergoing a partial campus renovation and I was able to populate the renovation model with little carved balsa trash cans, tables and students. The first little carving that went missing from this model, I found it interesting, was a little guy I carved leaning against a wall in a secluded area smoking a cigarette. It was fun doing these little carvings. I also had a one-man display of my chalk carvings in a small display window by the school office. I carved the Viking mascott, a viking ship with oars and sail, chalk chains, a chalk ball within a box, chalk springs, even the ship USS Cutty Sark which only measured 2" long and was all out of chalk. Perhaps friends would remember this more than who I was then.
