Bob's Story

Life After high school went to work with Disney in Glendale. Worked in the warehouse there. Was laid off due to I don't really remember why. Skipped around Panorama City for a while in various jobs until 1974. Went to New York for ten years to do some volunteer work for an international company-even did some illustrating in some of their publications. My dad died in 1980 that year met my future wife Susie up near San Francisco. Lived together in New York for 4 years then moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 1985. Two kids were born to us, a girl and a boy. Managed to secure a general contractor license of the state of California in 1990. Been doing remoldeling and repairs ever since. Still dapple in the art field, like to sculpture. By the way, my younger brother Bill graduated from Monroe in 1971. My still younger sister, Debbie graduated in 1972 also from Monroe. My older sister, Sandy graduated from Monroe a year earlier than I, in 1968 (for those looking for other Hansen's) More detail upon request. School James Monroe High, in my formable years left many impressions, little memory tabs. Very few of which I have been able recall without my Aliisian Valhalla year book. But when I do they become fond memories. ...Expand for more
Approaching now the 40th anniversary of my class I often wonder about those people, those memory tabs, and wish that more of them would leave notes or even supply their photos as I have on this site. I guess I would like to test my recognition skills. My only 'claim to fame' if one could call it that, was my interest in carving board chalk often from each teachers' room that I attended. Sure I was in the art production class in my senior year and my closest friend in this class was Debbie Harris. At the time Monroe was undergoing a partial campus renovation and I was able to populate the renovation model with little carved balsa trash cans, tables and students. The first little carving that went missing from this model, I found it interesting, was a little guy I carved leaning against a wall in a secluded area smoking a cigarette. It was fun doing these little carvings. I also had a one-man display of my chalk carvings in a small display window by the school office. I carved the Viking mascott, a viking ship with oars and sail, chalk chains, a chalk ball within a box, chalk springs, even the ship USS Cutty Sark which only measured 2" long and was all out of chalk. Perhaps friends would remember this more than who I was then.
