Bob's Story
Hi '66 Komets!
Yes, still alive and well (all things considered, right?). Holly (Hilltop '68) and I just celebrated our 53rd anniversary here in Windsor, CA (about one hour north of San Francisco) where we've lived for 45 years now.
Journey since '66:
College at University of Colorado, B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering - '70 grad - ROTC to Army 2LT.
Stationed in Germany '70-'73 with Army Corps of Engineers - traveled through lots of Europe.
The Army sent me to Oregon State University, Corvallis '73-'75 for graduate degree - got 2 different M.S.'s '75 (both civil engineering majors).
The Army next sent me to San Francisco Bay Area (from which I've never left!) where my career progressed through various jobs in civil engineering and constru...Expand for more
ction. Mostly I was involved with project management, not design. I've often thought, "If I was ever accused of being an engineer, there wouldn't be enough evidence to convict me!" (And, yes ... most of my jokes ARE that bad ...)
Had a major stroke in '06 (Bummer!) which resulted in my retirement in '08 (Hurray!) including as an LTC in the Army.
Throughout this time I’ve been fortunate to always enjoy an ever-growing family (currently 3 children and 13 grandchildren), travel (mostly Europe), and 'hobbies' (cars and model trains ... and, oh yes ... CARS!).
And as for the past two years ... (well not so much of nothing, right?).
I’t was great to see so many friends at our 55th Reunion! Until next time …
'Mr. Bob' (my family and friends 'moniker'!)
