Bob's Story
Life
I received my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from U of D in 1966 and went on for a master's degree and doctorate in Computer Engineering. I retired from EDS on 1/1/98, after spending 32 years in the computer industry as a software/database designer/developer and instructor...and I haven't regretted it for one minute. My time is now taken up with volunteering at the Township Public Library's Senior Center (Internet instructor), volunteering as a math tutor, volunteering (since 1989) as a music minister (keyboard/vocals) at church, working part time as a paid photographer for the Oakland County Parks (2000-2003), managing personal, church and class web sites, reading (averaging more than 100 books/year) and just plain enjoying having total control of my day to day activities.
School
After high school, I attended the University of Detroit, College of Engineering, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I went on to earn a Masters and Doctorate in Computer Engineering..

om U of D with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I spent the next few years working on my Master's and Doctorate in Computer Engineering while working as a teaching fellow, then as a full-time Electrical Engineering Instructor at U of D and finally as a software developer for ACTS Computing.
Workplace
After graduating from U of D in 1966, I spent a summer with IBM, developing an accounting and order entry system for GM/Detroit Diesel. In the fall of 1966, I joined U of D as a teaching fellow in the Electrical Engineering Department. Two semesters later, I was hired as a full-time Instructor. Having completed my Master's (1968) and coursework of my Doctorate (1969), I joined ACTS Computing as a doctoral intern and software developer. Over the next 29 years, I earned a doctorate in Computer Engineering (1975), developed computer applications in a variety of technical and non-technical areas, conducted computer programming and data base courses, and survived 5 mergers and acquisitions until I retired from EDS at the end of 1997.
