Bob's Story
I have always been proud to be a member of the class of 82. My journey to Northwest started at Bevis elementary.
But my dad bought a farm when I was young so I transferred to Pleasant Run Elementary. I quickly found it was a good school, with a great group of kids. The teachers were pretty good too. school was fun and interesting. I had a little trouble in the 6th grade. Problems with illness at home. Junior high was also very good. I started to have trouble at home do to family illness, that was not being addressed. Once we moved to the high school [10th grade]. I did ok. I was really looking forward to getting into electronics. Junior year I missed a lot of days at school the first week of school. It made it difficult for me to keep up in electronics. Could not get the parts I needed. so I elected to go back to regular school. I took all the shop courses I could. Truly enjoyed drafting and the different shop courses. including typing. I was having serious problems at home with a family illness. I slept in my car, in out buildings, or I would come home late to avoid confrontations.my brot...Expand for more
her was getting worse, It became unbearable. My senior year I tried a last ditch effort to salvage my education. I ran into t problems, one was a teacher, the other was at home. I had to get my diploma after school. This is a very mild version of what I was going through.
I have recently began to tell some people about what I went through again the generic version, it is a relief to share the problems that I went through . I was so embarrassed, the last two years of school. I have reached out to people to share, it is hard to talk about sometimes even now. sometimes I say the wrong thing. To one of you out there, I apologize for the miscommunication [on my part]. I I just wanted to share a story. It is just hard to talk about sometimes.
