Robert's Story
For those who remember me- my love of music was to be my career path. Such plans are often abandoned as other, more practical choices are made. After a couple of years of frustration with the piano, I studied computer programming. Having been paid reasonable well, but not finding career satisfaction I tried collage. Graduating with a BS in Psychology in '71, MS in '74 and later Psy.D. Wanting to become more skilled practitioner I attended a Psychoanalytic institute and after five years of classes attempted a private practice only to find that HMO limited both fees and number of sessions. Since then I worked as an outpatient therapist in community mental health, as a crisis intervention specialist in both state and county prisons. d as well as Psychiatric Hospitals. Now I have retired with a state pension and Social Security in New Mexico. I was married for about 2 1/2 years and found that I was not compatible with the love of my life. Opportunities for a second marriage have been sparse--I am still a bachelor and have stopped looking. Health has been good with no major illnesses, but am very out of shape. I suffer from sleep Apnea , for those who have this condition you know how difficult it is to get going in the morning. I think about my friends and wonder how well all of you have fared. Hoping and wishing all is well with you. I have fond memories--stay well and be happy. Photo is from grad school. PS. Been treated for cancer (basil cell) have had much sun damage and expect to have more skin cancer.
