Bob's Story
It's very strange where life takes you (or doesn't take you)
In my junior & senior year I worked at the Union 76 on the corner of 34th and high school rd.
In January 1973 after graduating I took a temporary job at Speedway Auto Parts as a delivery driver until going to a trade school in the fall.
After loosing my negotiating powers with my parents I moved out on my own unable to afford to continue school.
Through persistence and quick maneuvering I managed to land a promotion to counter sales at the west Washington St location. (The other guy quite)
A few years later I was rewarded the responsibility of Management do to the effective way I could build customer loyalty. (The other guy quite)
In 1980 after showing much responsibility and financi...Expand for more
al stability I was then given the opportunity to continue my skill building by purchasing the location I was managing on a contract sale. (The owner was tired and he quite)
I also married my wife Dale (Magdalene) May 3rd that same year and have been blessed with to sons and one grand daughter.
Today we have six stores and a warehouse to operate that keeps us all very busy.
We live in Plainfield Indiana and still spend most of my time on the west side of Indianapolis
So really it shows that you do not have go very far to travel a long way
I love to fish, play Golf and do remodeling to escape.
Remember: Be nice and smile to everyone you meet. You don't know what they are going through, and they may need that smile.
