Bob's Story
After EHS I graduated from Drake U. in 1970 and became a CPA with a large Des Moines CPA firm. Later worked for a client company and was one of several co-founders of Heritage Media, Inc. which later went public with an IPO. Finally starting in 1987 worked as the CFO for FCStone Group, Inc. for 20+ years which we took public in a IPO in March, 2007 and I retired in Jan., 2008. we have great fun with. I am an avid golfer and I had my 7th hole in one a couple of years ago. With 2 sons separately I have won the State of Iowa Father/Son golf tournament 4 times and the Iowa Golf Association in Dec. 2021 named the permanent State Father/Son & Parent/Child Championship Trophy the “Bob Johnson & Sons Trophy”, a very unexpected honor.
Also in 2023 the East High Alumni Association inducted me into the East High Hall of Fame - certainly the honor of a lifetime!
