Bob's Story
I attended The Citadel along with our GHS classmate John Stoverink and we graduated in 1980. I spent 3 years doing substitute teaching in the FFX CO schools and was an assistant freshman football coach at Groveton in 1983. I later taught Phys Ed and Health at private schools in Virginia and North Carolina, I quit teaching in 1987 and joined the Air Force Reserve at Andrews AFB and became a flight medic. I subsequently enrolled in the nursing program at NVCC, graduating in 1993. I also spent a decade flying with the Air National Guard at Wilmington, Delaware and served in Desert Storm, the Balkans and Enduring Freedom.
I have worked in various specialties at several facilities around the DC area including Fairfax and Mt Vernon Hospitals; I met my wife while working ...Expand for more

At present I am doing agency nursing working various assignments at Hospitals in the DC and Baltimore area, we live in Deale, MD which is on the bay south of Annapolis. I also presently serve as a nurse with the Army Reserve at Walter Reed AMC.
I enjoy golf, biking, scuba diving, yard work and collecting military insignia. I also have an interest in geneology and history and have had several articles about military history/insignia published in a collectors magazine. I also like to travel, mostly in the US but I have spent quit a bit of time in Europe, the Middle East and the Carribean while flying with the Air Force, I have been to diverse places like Cuba, Iceland, Paraguay and even Johnston Atoll in the Pacific.
