Bonita's Story
Life
I'm a retired junior high school math teacher as of January 2006. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at Norwich University, VT, in 1981. It took me 11 years to complete it because my husband, John, was in the military and we moved a lot. We've lived in Oklahoma, Maryland, Vermont, Kansas, Germany, and Texas. After the kids were all in school, I worked as a bookkeeper in the Copperas Cove Public Library and took college math classes at night so that I could teach and be home with my children during their school holidays.
John and I have been married for 34 years and are the parents of four great kids. Our oldest, Natalie, has been married 14 years and is a full-time mom to our only grandchildren, Sydney Anne, 5 years old, and Samuel Jason, 3 years old. Oldest son Jonathan completed a graduate degree at Sam Houston State University and is teaching algebra at Huntsville HS, TX. Middle son Jeremy, an adult with autism, has a bachelor's degree in software engineering, works part-time, and lives at home. Our youngest son, Christopher, is a Navy veteran and back home also attending college.

se it allows me to spend quality time with my grandchildren and pursue my hobbies. I'm scrapbooking a lot--I have three separate scrapbook projects going right now. I still love to read anything I can get my hands on, work math puzzles, cross-stitch, listen to oldies music, and my newest passion, garden. I have more time now to cook and bake--and now I have to exercise, because I cook and bake more.
I also still love cats and always have two to four underfoot in the house. We spent four summer vacations in Cozumel and our daughter and her husband took us to Maui for a week in March 2006. We're already planning a return trip. I lost my father to lung cancer October 2006 and I still drive up frequently to visit my mom there.
Tom Berry (EHS) and I were married after high school and divorced after five years. I've only been in touch with Betsey Weddington and Roger Fultz since I left Lawton, and I've since lost track of Betsey. I'd love to hear from anybody I knew from Augsburg or Eisenhower High Schools, since I'm no longer grading papers and writing lesson plans in all my spare time and actually have time to correspond.
