Bonni's Story
When I graduated, my parents gave me a set of luggage expecting me to be a world traveler. Unfortunately, I never left town. I used the luggage to visit my brothers and my sister and they moved around the world with the military.
I met my husband in 1983 at Universal Instruments where we both worked. We were married in 1984 and had our first daughter in September of 1985. Our second daughter was born in January of 1989. I left Universal in 1988 when our oldest was diagnosed with Leukemia. She has since been considered cured and is doing wonderful. My girls are our biggest pride and joy. They have become beautiful young ladies.
In 2003 I opened Queen B Bakery & Cafe where Lil Leon's used to be. It was too expensive in that location so I moved up above Hair It Is Hair Salon on Front St., in Vestal. I named that shop "How Sweet It Is". It wa...Expand for more
s too small so I closed up and gave up on the idea of owning my own business and went back to work in the real world. I did that until April of this year when I once again went back out on my own. I opened up Baked Euphoria Cakes & Pastries on Watson Blvd. in Endwell. This location used to be my grandparent's grocery store from the 1940's to the 1970's. It is a perfect location and is doing wonderful. Business has been incredible.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in June of this year. Our oldest daughter, Nicolina will be married on September 12th, 2009.
I spend way too much time working and need to find a way to reconnect and take time to exist outside of my working world. Hopefully, I will be able to do that sometime soon. Life is going to go too fast and I don't want to be so busy making a living that I forget to make a life.
