Bonnie's Story
Life
Graduated in 1978. Married an Erwin HS guy in 1980. Have 3 kids (23, 20 & 16). Started working at Amsouth Bank in 1978, changed jobs to Carraway Hospital in 1981 (worked in the ER). In 1985, started working for the Postal Service. I started in the processing center, moved to the retail department, then to accounting. I was promoted to managerial position in 1997, and moved to Huntsville. During that time I worked on special projects from 2000-2002. Then in December was sent on special assignment at our Washington DC Headquarters (suppose to be 30-90 days ended up 14 months!!). Washington DC is a GREAT place to work and live (as long as the company is paying per-diem---lol-----just way too expensive to permanently move and live there). iversary). Transferred to Florence Post Office as Supervisor and now n Mobile as Manager of Customer Services Main Office.
During these years I was certified in scuba diving (love it), owned a 750cc Virago (yes, it was mine--we also had a Gold Wing with sidecar to take the kids with us some). I still don't miss high school, but do miss some of the friends that I had there.
About 2 years ago, I was auditing some post offices and met Sherry (another Huffman High classmate). It was soooo cool to see someone from school and hear about others that she may have kept up with over time. I also experienced my first "deer season" in 2004. I don't know that I could shoot bambi, but it was neat to play Texas Hold-em and come in 2nd place out of 14 others (all guys)......yeah,....us girls can still keep up!!
