Bonnie's Story
Since graduating from Newport I earned a BFA in Painting from the Museum Art School (now: Pacific Northwest College of Art, PNCA) and an MFA in Painting from Montana State University. From 1981 to 1987 I was Director of Academic Affairs at PNCA; Director of Beall Park Art Center from 1991-1994; Director of Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, 1994-2000; President of Oregon College of Art and Craft, 2000-2010; and The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art (regional, not Native American) at the Portland Art Museum, 2010-2016. ke Oswego.
On the way from Newport to now I've moved 30 times, been a dishwasher, fry cook, cocktail waitress, house cleaner, house painter, writer for Practical and Performance Horseman magazines, and hat-knitter-for-$! I've trained and shown horses and dogs and learned to fly fish, an undertaking I have loved since beginning to work at it in 1984.
Oh, I've been lucky to travel around Europe a few times and lived in France for almost a year in 79 and 80 (just making art and looking at stuff.)
Life is good and if we have a 50th (how can that be possible?????) Jack and I will be there. I hope to hear from some of you. All Best, Bonnie
