Bonnie's Story

Hello to all my class mates from Foothill High, class of "70". Well as most of my close friends know from high school I meet Rick when I was 15 and he was 21, (that went over like a lead balloon with my dad but after he meet Rick he loved him until the day dad died.) I married my high school sweetheart ( he was in the navy while I was in school.) Anyway we were married in Aug of 1970, and after we were married and he got me away from my mother he brought me out of my shell and really showed me what life was about, and that I didn't have to be afraid of other people, he showed me things and took me places I never knew existed, and we are still together after almost 39 years. We have 3 kids 2 boys and a girl. I call them kids but my oldest son is 36, my middle son is 33 and my daughter is 28. We have 5 beautiful grand children ranging from age 16 down to 2 years, 4 boys and 1 girl. We moved to Montana after we were married and have stayed in the Bitterroot Valley just south of Missoula in the western part of the state. TO MUCH SNOW NOT ENOUGH SUN......But beautiful mountains all around us. If you ever come to Montana check out the Bitterroot Valley. You won't regret it. We had a new home built 2 years ago and we love it, before this we owned 20 acres in the country but after the kids left home what do 2 people do with 20 acres and a big ranch house? So we sold and built the new home. After my last child, my daughter, started kindergarten I went to work part time at K-Mart that lasted 6 years then I left that job for a position at the Missoula Federal Credit union, that one also lasted 6 years. I then left that position to move on to Missoula County for a position as title clerk in the motor vehicle Dept. That also lasted 6 years. My last position was at First American Title Company insuring home titles and doing searches, yet again after 6 years I became ill and the Dr's could not figure out what was wrong and they looked and watched me for nearly a year until I had a major seizure and they found a baseball size nonmilignant brain tumor. Surgery was the next morning and after that episode I had to retire and became a housewife again. Amazingly they said the tumor could have been growing even as far back as high school, so it grew and then stopped and then started all over again. This type of tumor is very slow growing. But I came through it and the only problem is some short term memory pr...Expand for more
oblems. Boy would I love to talk to my math teacher Mr.John Hoaglund, he always asked me if there was anything between my ears. I hated math.HEHEHE, But Hoaglund didn't know how to teach any other way then intimidation, dad had a lot of talks with him.. I think the wildest thing I ever did in school was sneek off campus with Rick when he was home on leave to have lunch, this was in my sophmore year and yes I thought it was the greatest thing I ever did. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Jill Lowery, because Jill and I have known each other since we were 2 years old and we have only seen each other 1 time since graduation.. I would also love to see Ginger Ringelbauer she was a very good friend. I love baseball and we have 2 dogs and 2 cats. My past time is camping, fishing and my compassion is crocheting afghans. I think what I have learned from my kids is that teenagers never change from one generation to the next. We still think we all know everything. The teacher I would love to see again once more is Mr. Hoaglund. Just to let him know what I think of him as a person. He would be amazed that I worked in a Credit Union. To be truly happy I would not change a thing in my life, I am right where I want to me and with my high school sweetheart. The question what happened to your first crush? well believe it or not it was Brose Wood I think alot of the girls had a crush on him, but I was devestated when he was killed. My best friend would tell you I'm happy go lucky, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as shy. The one thing that would surprise everyone at a reunion would be I am very out going and can have alot of fun when I want to, I am not the person from our Senior class anymore. There are a few ladies out there I would love to give a piece of my mind to also, I just hope that there kids grew up with a little more dignity and treated other people better than they did in school. The childhood memory I remember most was Jill Lowery and I sitting outside our houses and getting into a mud fight over a spoon. I truly wish that I could be at the reunion in June but I have a little grandson that is coming to visit Nana and PO and I can't give up that visit as much as I want to see all of you but maybe next time. I wish all my class mates the best in the future and would love to see everybody again. God Bless and Best Wishes to All Bonnie S
