Bonnie's Story
Bonnie's schools include De Anza High School. Bonnie later attended San Jose State University. Bonnie works(ed) at Bonnie's Bounty Quilting.
Currently working my way through the college of retirement, majoring in Quilting. It fits with my BA in Creative Arts!
I love living in the woods, in a small, close community. My quilts raise funds for our local scholarship, given to a local student who continues on to college. Currently raffling a quilt to raise funds for my church's Lunch on Us program, a free lunch for community every Thursday. I display my quilts at Art in the Garden, a celebration of local artists in June every year. We celebrate Lumber Jack Day in October, this year we have a quilt show as well. My quilts are also shown at the Calaveras County Fair...Frog Jump. I am displaying my ribbons in a workroom I share with my wonderful quilting buddy.. She and I teach quilt...Expand for more
ing on Mondays in a group we call sewciables.
I have four wonderful grandchildren. I just had the blessing of the birth of a great grandson, who we got to love for 5 weeks before his disabilities moved him on to his ancestors above. What a special little man, he taught this community a lot in his all too short life.
One of my granddaughters is on tour with her high school (Calaveras) in Washington DC and New York. How those High School memories live on. Remember the De Anza Band in the Rose Parade?
My son plants a vegetable garden every year. We have tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, cucumbers, okra, and a few fruit trees. My dog and I are kept busy maintaining 6 acres and a garden while Rich is on tour. He does lighting for concert tours, so is gone quite a bit.
Life is good! Six acres of pines, oaks, and madrones in a wonderful small community....who could ask for anything more?
