William Booker:  

Life Spent all 8 grade school years at St. Joseph's Junior Military School in East Liberty. Graduated as the commanding officer of the school in 1956. Used Booker as last name for 1st 6 yr, then Lewandowski in 7th through 11th grades. The first 2 yr of high school were at North Catholic on Troy Hill. Jr year was at Lincoln Park Honor School (college prep division of the High School of Commerce) in New York City. My half- sister, Karen, was playing the part of Helen Keller in Miracle Worker on Broadway that year. Sr year was back in Pittsburgh at North Hills HS, where I also returned to using Booker as my last name. After High School, I spent 1 year at Pitt, then joined the USMC from 1961 - 1964. Married Carol Ann Fink in Nov, 1964. Worked at J&L Steel for 1 year, then decided to get an engineering degree at Carnegie Tech (BSEE, 1969). Our son, Brian, was born in Oct 1967, while I was at Tech. Worked at General Dynamics, Fort Worth, on the F-111 Program for 2 years. Our daughter, Kara, was born in Texas in Jul, 1970. Went to Winston-Salem, NC, for the next 2 years, to work on the Safeguard Missile Program for Western Electric. From there, we moved to Los Angeles, CA.
