Charlene's Story
Well, it has been a long time since I spoke to anyone Rialto, Ca. So much has happened since leaving Sunny Southern California.
Those of you that attended Kolb Middle School 72-74, are the ones that would remember me. And possible those of you that attended elementary school in south Rialto.
I left Rialto in June 1973, at the end of 8th grade. I was voted ASB President, only to have to move to Washington State with my Father's transfer from Norton AFB to McChord AFB, in Tacoma, Washington.
This was the time of my life that hurt a great deal leaving friends that I had for all of my school years up to that point, to go to a different place and start all over again.
I never forgot those of you that I considered friends and in fact I just moved again and when packing to do so, found my annual from Kolb and the river started flowing with tears for all the kind words that you wrote...Expand for more
to me.
I wonder sometimes how my life would have been different, if I had been able to stay and graduate with you from Eisenhower. Someone in my annual, said they thought I would have been the First Woman President of United States. Boy, we sure had big dreams back then.
For me, I have great memories and only wish I could have stayed in touch with you. Now, if we would have had the items available today, like cell phones, email, computers. You wouldn't have been able to get rid of me.
I hope with me writing this little bit of my story, some of you, that were friends back then, will try to get in touch with me. Haven't changed that much and will try to find a picture from then to post to help remind you who I am and then I will post one from now and you can be the judge.
Take care and wish you all the very best.
P.S. Phoenix, AZ is not as far as Washington State was back then.
