Bossie's Story
Life
I graduated from Crenshaw High in 1983, I joined the United States Army; and received my basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where I was giving and MOS of 12B, Combat Engineer. From there I went to Fort Benning, Georgia and received Basic Airborne training, which is jumping from an aircraft while in flight with a static line parachute on your back. From there I went to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where I was a member of B Company 307th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division and received jungle operations training at Fort Sherman, Panama. I left there and went to Korea and was a member of A Company 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division from 1987 to 1988. Honduras for 3 months and became Ranger qualified and also participated in Desert Shield/Storm with that unit. I then went to SFAS and SFQC and became a member of Special Forces and took training in Military Freefall HALO/HAHO OPS (equivalent to civilian skydiving) only we jump with full combat equipment and oxygen, from altitudes ranging from 6000 feet above ground level to 25,000 feet AGL. I participated in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). I currently hold the rank of Master Sergeant I will have 21 years of service in October 2004. I have attended the Sergeants Major Academy, graduated June 30, 2004. As I stated above I have been to numerous countries and let me say this, there is no other country in the world that can compare with the United States. God Bless America
