Bounma's Story
Life
Once I had finished high school, I started college right away, not considering the break that I desperately needed due to my depression during the high school years. I had kept the fact that I was depressed and gay from everyone. One thing led to another. The next place I found myself was in a psychiatric office being diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. And from there, I had tried to live the best possible life, day to day, hoping this "disease" will go away with time. Even to this day, I'm still hoping this "disease" will go away. But I know now that hoping the "disease" away is not the answer. All my hopes are now going to medical science and god. I guess deep down inside I am still hoping for that miracle that paranoid schizophrenia can be cured.
But on a different front, I have gained more self-esteem and confidence through this tragedy. I have experienced up's and down's just like everybody else. I've gone through a five-...Expand for more
year relationship with a man that ended up on my agenda list as a one-night stand. That may sound mean but it's an honest response. I believe I had to go through an experience such as this because I lacked the experiences I could have had if I came out in high school. But to be fair, I think I also had to go through an emotional growth I needed in order to fulfill a partner's needs.
Nowadays, all I think about is relationships and all of its possibilities. You could call me obsessed but I don't usually act it out. I still remember the awkward times that I went through during the high school years and will never forget that time in my life. Because in order to move on, you have to know where you come from and the destination you determine for yourself.
Optimistically speaking, I am now re-entering college at Mt. San Antonio College in order to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona for my bachelor's degree in hospitality/restaurant management.
