Robert's Story

Military I enlisted in January 1961, trained at Ft.Dix, NJ, then Ft.Benning, GA and finally at Fr.Campbell, KY with the 327th Airborne where I completed jump training in the 101st Airborne. Next I attended Infantry Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning. Upon completion I was assigned as a platoon leader wi...Expand for more
th what eventually became the 1st Airborne Brigade in Gonsenheim, Germany. Within about six months I became the Communications Platoon Leader after which I took over as Commuications Officer. For the last six months of my military career I was the Brigade S-2. I was discharged in October 1964 to go to college.
