Brad's Story

After wasting my childhood on drawing and writing in school, I made the reckless decision to pursue an art career. I Graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1979 with my bachelor's degree. From there, I worked as an industrial designer for 25 years. Mainly for a custom golf car manufacturer in Desert Hot Springs. I was responsible for the entire product line which were miniature automobiles, not "carts". I quit in the early 2000's and began a career as an illustrator. I also wrote and illustrated customizing articles for various car magazines from 1989 to 2015. Currently I'm an illustrator and author. I have a web site and a gallery on deviant art. That gallery has most of my newer stuff! bradleisure.com deviantart.com/brad56 On occasion, I paint portraits of cars for clients but most of my automotive illustration is for Round 2, a model car manufacturer in South Bend. I do some of the box art featured on the model kits. I have also contracted to World Missionary Press in New Paris IN. My wife and I moved to Indiana in 2015 to be closer to our clients. Mine in South Bend and hers in Shipshewana. We are kept very busy. She is an equine artist and very popular. After several decades of marriage and living like bachelor's with no responsibilities we decided to adopt two older children They are currently young adults. c talent herself. I originally wrote my first book, Hot Rod Bunny for my kids. (Working on the second edition now) I also have several other stories in the Hot Rod Bunny series that are written but not published yet. My kid's book, "The Little Garden Hare Who Met Jesus" is currently available. Most of my time is spent on car stuff, in one way or another. Yes, I'm still a car nut and probably will never be cured...not that I'm seeking one. My wife and I are celebrating 35 years of marriage. No, we can't believe it either. That's a long time to put up with my non-sense. Now, she is a few years younger than me. To put it in Brady Bunch terms; I'm the same age as Greg and she's the same age as Cindy. No, I didn't date her in high school! I waited until she was at least 12. Just kidding, I met her at the Church college group. I was already graduated but I didn't want to join the singles group. They seemed too desperate. Currently, we have a farmhouse in northeast Indiana that was built in 1910. (One of the newer homes in the area) It was the subject of one of our Christmas cards pictured in the gallery. We have two barns on five acres and a recently built two-story garage where my studio is located. I've uploaded several of my illustrations. Also, a few of our Christmas cards. Sheryl and I paint our own every year and send them to our special friends. Each has to have a horse and a car (or equivalent) in the scene. I hope you enjoy.
