Bradley's Story

Life After leaving Carroll I went to Texas A&M where I crammed four years of education into five. I started out in Electrical Engineering but switched to Mechanical after the second year. Magnetism & I just did not get along. But the Mechanical degree has probably served me better over the years than the Electrical would have. After graduation I ended up working in Waco for 7 years working for the power company. During this time I got married but not to a Baylorite. In 1980 my wife & I went to Saudi Arabia for 5 1/2 years. We did a lot of traveling in Europe during our time in...Expand for more
Arabia. When we came back to the US in 1985 I worked for a number of years with two consulting engineering firms. Then the bottom fell out of that job market. I went into computer network support for a little over 4 years. In 1998 I ended up back in engineering but in a position with a Civil Engineering firm. I am the only non-Civil Engineer in the firm. I write specifications for jobs the company designs. My predecessor was a History/Speech major and my boss says he has to hire non-Civil Engineers for this position because he can’t find a Civil Engineer who can write clearly.
