Brenda's Story
Wow... how time flies... well, I guess I should first say that it might be a bit decieving to say I was class of 1980 at Grossmont... I didnt actually get to graduate there... because I actually moved in the middle of my Senior Year. What a bummer that was! Yes after being in beautiful sunny southern California for 2 1/2 years my dad retired from the Air Force and moved us all back to Tampa.Florida. I had a great few years there and although I was a bit too shy for anyone to really remember... there are a few from the old Santee neighborhood that might.
I went to Alexander Elementary, Cuesta and West Tampa, Pierce Jr. High and then I moved at the end of 9th grade to Santee California to go to Grossmont High School in La Mesa, California from 1977-1980
I did move back to Tampa in 1980 - with only a few months before graduation. I remembered many of the kids I went to Elementary and Jr. High with... but as a few years would have it ... EVERYONE CHANGED!
It was all I could do to make myself go to school and graduate... in the top 10 percent~

ty College... I really was just taking classes for fun... had no idea what I wanted to do... and soooo life goes on....
I got into the bar business.... yeah, seems like a stretch for a girl that was too shy to talk to people... but amazing how talkative you become in a different environment. I really learned alot working in the clubs... waitress, bartender, manager, General Manager. I moved cross country many times over working for night club management companies.( including Confetti in San Diego) I did wonderful tour of duty in Hawaii where I worked on a cruise ship..best job EVER! I finally settled here in South Texas and if you woulda asked me when I was in high school if I would ever live in Texas.. you would have gotten a big NO WAY... but it kinda grows on you... its pretty cool.
I now manage a condo resort property. Its a great job with the added benefit of living directly on the ship channel where all the big ships pass to go to the port of Corpus Christi.
Not married, no kids... I guess time just got away from me.... haha what the heck!
