Brenda's Story
Got married to Jack Chism Sept, '69. Gave birth to Ross, 7/2/70 and Missy, 3/13/73. Jack and I were divorced in July, 1983. Met Jim Powell Dec. 83, fell in love and married in June 84. He had a daughter from a previous marriage, Alicia, 1/19/81. We had Joshua 3/1/85, so we had "yours, mine and ours" except they are all ours now. :-)
We have five grandchildren now - Shae (17), Taylor (14), Stephan (10), Ciara (4) and Caylee (3 months). Shae and Taylor are Ross' two children, Stephan is Missy's and Ciar...Expand for more

Update 11/2010 - Jim and I are still serving as English teachers in China (since July '08). We are humbled by the opportunity to bring a Christian view to the college we teach in. It's true that the teachers learn the most. The students are fun, but it's the friendships we've been able to form that keep us here. It's as though we have two families now ... one in the States and one in China. We are constantly awed by God's grace in the world.
