Brenda's Story
Life
I'm in my second marriage to Columbus "C.F." and we have been married 10 years. I have 2 stepson's and 4 stepgrandchildren. We had a house in Quinlan, Texas but sold it due to our schedules and the time involved to take care of 4 acres. We now have 4 acres in Lake Bonham, Tx and plan to build our retirement home.
We drive team for Con-Way Truckload and drive a dedicated run 3 times a week from Dallas, TX to Portland (Wilsonville),Oregon. We leave Dallas at 4:00 a.m.on Tuesday and arrive in Portland between 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 p.m. o...Expand for more
n Wednesday, then pick up at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday and back and forth. It's a hard fast run but we love it. We get to spend 24/7 together. We get to see our nation's beautiful country. We drive an average 28,000 miles per month. I am a night owl so I drive at night. I prefer this also because when we go through the major cities the traffic is much lower.
School
I was not interested in attending college. I took all the business courses I could in school and worked as an administrative assistant in the corporate world for 25 years.
