Brenda's Story

Life Southern girl now, single, happy, retired, and enjoy looking at everyone growing old from our class! LOL :) How should they remember me? As always ready to go and always happy! Everyone who knows me knows I have ALWAYS loved music and the beach! Great combination! Love solar, thinking green, thinking outside of the box, and don't believe in the word "no." :) I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. Watched medical programs. My family and friends thought that was an impossible idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. But life has a way of taking you where you're supposed to be, and I learned a lot as a court reporter! I have no regrets. However, I learned you're only limited by your own belief in yourself and the goals you set for yourself. Forget those who are negative about positive ideas and making changes! Favorite way to relax is to go to the beach (although not close now), get in the car and ride with the dogs, travel, having food and drinks with all my friends and laughing and telling stories, taking the dogs to the dog park. (They're not very friendly with the other dogs, though. A doxie trait!) LOL But they love their owners, and we love them! :) Wildest thing in school? Toilet papering friends' houses! Playing pranks on friends! If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have fun, believe the people I work for know what they're doing and that we work well together, that I'm doing something that is a challenge, that I'm accomplishing something in the world, and just learning something new every day in order to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Hero? Every dead or injured soldier! Mother Theresa, Mrs. Miller (an older woman who took care of my son while I worked and was a spiritual leader), Native Americans, and my father's work principles and dedication to work and our country. I have lived in California, Alabmaa, Florida, and Georgia. I moved for my husband, but now just moving for me. :) Travel, solar, animals -- especially our doxies that my daughter has taken possession of -- and having a good time! My biggest surprise is that I am living in the South -- especially Atlanta! Who would have thought? LOL If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my backyard and add on a Florida room and put up a windmill and solar panels. My dream home wou...Expand for more
ld be off the grid!!! Solar/wind.. I have learned that there is no perfect parent. You just do the best you can. Each child is different and their own person. You raise them and let them fly! Business English teacher. Good woman! If I won $100 million, I'd give hundreds of thousands of it to elderly and children projects, then spend the rest on a farm, house on the beach and solar and wind energy so nobody has to pay for something that should be free. True happiness is within you -- no matter where you are. But hanging out with friends and family at my own house on the beach would be awesome! Retiring with one house on the beach and one in the mountains and a farm with LOTS of animals, solar/wind off the grid, and crops to share! First crush? Ohhhhhh, groan. Makes me wonder why I had a crush on that person to begin with. But all the guy "friends" I would love to touch base with again and see how they're doing, what's new, etc. LOL Absolutely not! LOL Don't dress the same or talk the same. Weirdest job? Answering phones for a company! Hated it! Also, reporting an election dispute between half black and half white group of people in the South! That was an experience! Trophy on mantel? I was given the armband from a soldier in Germany, with "MP" on it; and I told him it would go on my mantel forever and stand for "Mom Patrol." I cherish the memories of going on that USO tour and traveling with President Bush to Germany, visiting our troops abroad. God Bless our Troops! Do-over? I would NOT marry my second husband! LOL In 10 years, I hope to be enjoying a farm, a beach house, and traveling. I'm going to get there by selling this house and moving. It happens when you make it happen. Real friends are forever! What would surprise everyone about me? That I'm a Southerner and have an accent and that there's a lot more of me! LOL My first job was actually at a hamburger joint for 3 hours! Not for me. Then at Hewlett Packard, where I got paid $400 a month to do order processing and repo typing. What I remember most about it is the men got paid more for the same job! My first experience with Women's Lib! LOL Moving a lot is my childhood memory! I hope friends remember me as caring about people and always fun! Life is just too short not to live every minute!
