Brenda's Story
Question - Couldn't wait to get out of high school so I graduated a year early in 1975. Do you say I'm class of '75 or '76? I spent every year together with '76 folks and left (graduated) at the end of junior year. I've always considered myself class of '76. The only time I felt different was when I went to one class reunion.
My story in hyper-speed: Graduated early, went to Berkeley, got degree in comp sci, moved to East Coast, worked until 2nd kid was born, stay-at-home mom till now. Currently own a bed and breakfast in CT. Have 3 kids. Oldest son is 19 attending Carnegie Mellon U in Pittsburgh, PA. Other two, 14 (girl) and 15 (boy) in same grade attending private high school nearby.

How do I (& thus everyone else?) remember me in high school? Nice way to put it is "unique." Not your cheerleader type (still not.) Not your dating type (saving myself??!!) Not your social butterfly (that came later when I joined orgs & took on leadership rolls.) Guess I was more academic (though I can't say I enjoyed school - it was a means to an end.) Okay. I was probably geeky. I enjoyed hanging out with my friends. Truth is I never liked high school. Back then, it lacked diversity of every sort (people, academics, etc.) Most of all, while most kids went to school, did sports/clubs, then went home, I worked in my family's Chinese take out business. That alone made me different. 'Nuf said. I'm doing fab at 50+. Got $$$. Got healthy body. Got family & friends.
