Brenda's Story

I have many fond memories of Anaheim and I think we were all very fortunate to have grown up there when we did. I still communicate with many of my high school friends from those days - and some as far back as Benjamin Franklin Elementary School and John C. Fremont. I recently returned to Southern California after living in the Pacific Northwest for almost thirty years.. I retired to Washington State from the Portland, Oregon, area in 2004 but returned to Oregon in 2012. My four children are scattered over three states, California, Oregon, and Nevada, so I don't see my nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren very often. The oldest is thirty four and the youngest is two years. My youngest son, Jonathan, recently received his Masters Degree at UNLV. He is currently taking his doctorate in Music Education, He is an opera singer and choral director for the Las Vegas MasterSingers. That means lots of trips to see his performances. He and his wife, Savannah, presented me with their second child, my fourth granddaughter, Nora, in 2009 and a grandson,...Expand for more
Jameson, in 2013. My oldest son, Jeff, recently received his degree from Cal State LA in History and plans to pursue a Masters. He is married to Sylvia and still resides in California. Next oldest son, Scott is still following his music with an international recording career based in Portland. He and his wife, Jeannie, have a daughter, Josephine, and Scott has two older children, Alex and Virginia. Daughter Karyn and her husband Jeff returned to live in California from Idaho. He works in the air conditioning refrigeration field. Daughter Brittyn, and her two children, moved back to California with them but Cameron their youngest stayed in Idaho, where he is a firefighter. Son Dylan is also in So Ca and is planning a wedding in May 2020. My career in city/county government was rewarding but very stressful. I am happy to be retired, working in my garden and doing lots of reading. My husband, Robin, and I travel whenever possible. I would love to hear from old friends from Anaheim High. I enjoyed seeing many friends at our 60th reunion this past fall.
