Life
Well the excitement continues! The job in Anahuac was eliminated in August 2009. Hurricane Ike eliminated 50% of the tax base so as a result they couldn't afford me anymore! Oh well, they decided it was cheaper to keep the business office outsourced. I was lucky enough to be contacted by a recuiter that had a position available, I interviewed for the position and had the job before I left.
I'm the Business Office Director at a 96 bed Psych Hospital in NW Houston. It's a great place, the people are wonderful and it's great to be appreciated again! This is going to be a big clean up just like every job I start! Challenge is my middle name!
Troy and I are still a couple, even thought he's living in Dallas working right now. There is a company who's office is down the street from my new apartment and he's been in contact with them to see...Expand for more
about going to work for them. Hopefully it will be within the next few months.
Jeff's back in SA and Mike and his crew are still in Corpus (Portland) so we continue to be in Texas. Mom is still doing good, although she is having some issues with her shoulder and spine. Nothing that can't be fixed. She's still running the countryside regularly. We are lucky to still have her around, we all still miss Dad on a regular basis.
The kids are all doing well and we found out at Thanksgiving that Rebecca's pregnant, Jeff's step daughter. We are all excited! I'm going to be a Great Aunt this year! WOO HOO!!
Workplace
I have spent the last 26 (almost 27) years in the Revenue Cycle part of the Medical Business office. I have worked in Central Business Offices, Hospital Business offices, Physician Offices, Rehab Clinics, etc. I love what I do.
