Brendilee's Story

Life I did very little with college and instead worked and even got my real estate license in later years....but didn't end up pursuing that career due to young children at the time. I married Scott in 1984 and we live in Sunland,CA. We bought our first house in 2002 and it's big enough for all of us to spread out as my parents also live with us (what can I say? Lots of room and GREAT parents!). My son Brandon was born in 1986, my son Shaun in 1989, and my daughter Brooklynn in 1994. We attend Open Bible Church where we were married, and my husband and I are on the worship team there, he as one of the worship leaders who plays the drums (has played since age 14), and I sing. I've worked with the youth at our church off and on for many years as well. In Feb.-March 2008 I went with a group from our church to visit and dedicate an orphanage that our church funded in Sirumgai, Tamil Nadu, India. AMAZING experience! I am currently in a Ministry training class called INSTE (Institute of Theology by Extension). My oldest son plays drums and is on rotation to play for our Sunday worship. He attends COC pursuing a degree in Theater Performance while acting in theater and preparing to pursue television, movies, and voice acting. Yeah, I know...tough biz...but he's talented and he loves it! My boys also have an off and on band called "Amarantha" among other music endeavors with musician friends. My son Shaun, who is a talented artist, is attending COC in pursuit ...Expand for more
of an art degree. My daughter is now attending Village Christian, the only one of our kids to do so, and she is a pianist. Needless to say, we have a busy household much of the time.....and throw our crazy animals into that mix too! School My biggest crush in school???? Sheesh! I had a few over the years, but, as most know, that one I dated for about a year and a half with some ups and downs in between. Enough of that said! Mr. Kendrick was my all time favorite teacher. I'm very glad to be out of that school and teenage life though there were some fun and memorable times. Thanks to facebook I've been fortunate enough to reconnect with some old school friends. Being awarded the "Most Improved" basketball trophy in 11th grade was totally embarrassing! Being crowned Homecoming Queen was an honor. I'll never forget a day I was late getting out to PE in 8th grade so I took off running on that dirt and gravel by the "pavilion" only to wipe out and kill my knee (a rock stuck in it!). These days the dirt and gravel are gone, but that day Greg Rhoads saw it happen and he came to my rescue, not only by helping me up, but he picked me up and carried me to Mr. Wilson's office! Though totally embarrassed, I died and went to heaven for those moments! Thanks Greg! And for the date 4 years later :) College As far as college goes, I only stuck it out for under a year. Unfortunately I didn't have very clear direction at the time so I didn't continue on....too bad!
