Brenna's Story
I am living in Amherst, NY (a suburb of Buffalo) and am married with 2 kids, girls 7 and 9. After graduation, I spent way too many years going to college and/or waitressing or bartending. It took a while for me to find my calling and to grow up! I have been working as a Special Education teacher for the last 8 years, working with high school students with emotional and behavioral needs as well as learning disabilities. I find working with my students not only challenging but also a lot of fun. I know, I never was quite right. I am also currently working on my PhD in Literacy Education. My hope is that if I ever burn out with my highschoolers that I can move on to the university level and teach new teachers. Also, I have been in this area now since 1989 and am itching for some travel. Once my own children have graduated high school I plan on skipping the country as often as possible!
