Bret's Story

I ended up getting an electrical engineering degree from RIT and moved to Boulder, Co when I got out of school working as an applications engineer in the electronics industry. I spent most of my career working for a successful company named Xilinx which is the industry leader in programmable logic. oss. My other main hobby is playing guitar, usually blues slide guitar. I'm married to Lisa who is also an engineer and bike racer. We live in an old historic neighborhood in Boulder in a 1910 house that we've restored. I'm retired now and so am able to devote a lot of time to cycling and playing guitar. We like to travel a lot, mainly cycling trips to Europe or to the CA wine country.

Another great day for a ride. That's three days in a row in the upper 50's. Cold tomorrow.

I was going through a box of old photos and found this one from the late 80's when I rode with Hammer Racing Team. I don't remember the race, but someone caught me "on the rivet" as they say.
I was on a ladder today changing batteries in the smoke detectors. Maddie was there in a supervisory role.
One of the few times all the Wade men were together.
This photo was taken in 1984, my second year in CO. I was riding for a short-lived team sponsored by the "I Like Bikes" bike shop on Colfax Ave. in Denver. I was once told that the other teams called us the "big pink dicks"
