Bret Kudlicki:

CLASS OF 1985
Richardson, TX

Bret's Story

Life I went to college at the University of Texas at Austin after graduation from RHS. In a short four years (thank you AP classes!), I got a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and proceeded to move to San Diego, job offer from General Dynamics in hand. Over the next 7 years, General Dynamics became Martin Marietta and then Lockheed Martin, so I worked for three different companies and in about four or five different positions, all involving the design, production and launch of unmanned rockets (yes, a true rocket scientist). In 1994 I had to decide whether to stay in San Diego unemployed or move to Denver with my job. I moved, but at the same time decided that what I really wanted to be was an architect. In 1996, having worked in Denver for a year, I quit my job and went to graduate school full time. I finished school again with a Masters of Architecture degree. I have worked with t...Expand for more
wo different firms in Denver, along with doing some smaller jobs on my own. During graduate school I met my future wife, Cheryl, while on a trip to Illinois. She eventually moved to Denver and we got married in 1999, soon after I graduated. We love fixing up our house, hiking, hanging out with our two cats, Pete and Delmar, and travelling as much as possible. We have been lucky enough to be able to travel to places like China, Peru, Alaska and Europe. We feel very blessed. Speaking of, we are currently living in Ahmedabad, India for one year. My wife won a scholarship to pursue additional post-graduate studies, and I accompanied her and am working for an interior designer. We return to the States in June of 2008 after we travel around India for a while. If anyone wants to catch up, please e-mail and/or visit if you are ever in Denver. I am the only Kudlicki in the phone book.
