Brian's Story

Life My life has been pretty simple since Grad Nite. I got a part time job at a local grocery store (OakWood Markets). I worked there for 2 years taking classes during the summer only because It would take that long to save up the money to afford it. I decided not to continue school because it was taking me too long to save up the money for it. After 2 years at the grocery store I left and went across the street to Goodys Family Clothing in Kingsport. I worked there for 9 years. After geting sick of the clothing world I decided to try my hand in the world of office supplies. I worked at Office Depot for 3 years. I left Office Depot and went to Lowes of Kingsport. I am still at Lowes in a mgmt position but I am taking classes on becoming an Insurance Producer. I have came in contact with so many old classmates, some I liked seeing again and some that I did not. Some of them have changed and others have not at all. When i was in school I was the quiet and shy type that some people liked to pick on. Kids can be mean to each other. Sometimes they not realise what they do and some do know and dont care if they hurt that person or not. My parents always told me that it is the parents fault on how there children act. I was taught that how you treat people when your young will come back to haunt you later in life. I did not enjoy school till I got in High School. My 9th and 10th grade was extremly hard on me. I was picked on alot those 2 years because I was quiet and shy. I have to say that I was singled out to be the kicking boy alot. I was called all kinds of names. I had a few other students try to pick fights with me. Why? Just because they wanted to. There was no good reason for it. They either wanted to try to show off in front of there friends or girl friends. Sometim...Expand for more
es the girls was just as bad as the boys were. To make a long story short and I could go on and on about my bad expierences but what would be the need in that. I would like to point out the meaning of why I am telling you this. If you remember the last several years about the school shootings that happened in the High Schools because of kids that were treated like garbage by there fellow students and some Teachers. I did some extensive research and found out that those kids was treated just like I was with the only difference that my family was a support system for me that those kids did not have. Are you geting the point yet? Treat people the way you want to be treated. Even if they are a little different from you that is no excuse. They had a reality show called Class Reunion. There were certain types of students that were selected to be on. In one of the episods there was a girl who had approached another girl on how she had treated by her. The girl replied to her that it was years ago and that they were in High School and to get OVER IT! Well, what she does not get is that it is easy for her to say that because she was not the one that was being picked on. So, of course she can say that. What that girl is trying to get her to understand, is that, all she wanted from her was to say that she was sorry for how she had treated her. BUT, she never got it. You would think that some one with kids of her own would understand where she was coming from. Well, all I can say at this point, I hope that the people that I was in school with has got kids and understood how bad they had been and are teaching there kids to be better than they were. Always remember, It will come back to you some how. Like the old saying goes. What comes around, goes around. Have a nice life.
