Brian's Story

Life Life bio is kinda tough to get into a small space, so, lets talk about life after HS. I went to Korea right after HS and lived there for a year, teaching english and attending Yonsei University, majoring in design. When I returned to the US I lived at home for 6 mos, going to school and working and thought better of the living at home bit and moved to Roseburg, OR and then on to Portland, OR. Was married and worked alot and found myself in Eugene OR in the early 90's. After 7 years of marriage, we called it quits and I lived the life of a bachelor for about 3 1/2 years and remarried my wife now of 5 years. I have a grandson Derek and a grandaughter Danea and as of the 1st part of August 2004, a grandson Alonzo. I have been traveling and working as an artist and designer for about 15 years. School Weird how school, especially HS, has become our greatest point of reference for so much in our adult lives. Here you are reading my thoughts about school as if yours weren't enough! I guess I'm to tell you that i started school at Spring Glen Elementary in Fall City Washington in a class of 7 in a school population of 21 grades 1-8th. Big school, eh? Next was Loma Linda Elementary, Middle, and High School in Loma Linda CA. This was followed by a 2 year stint in Milo Academy in Milo Or. Overall, I found school to be pretty easy and if you looked at my grades, you would know it was a result of a lack of application and work. I did manage to enjoy myself as much as any kid/teenager can. Oh sure I got in trouble from time to time, but they were all experiences that guide me today. College I was only able to list my last school but I attende...Expand for more
d several. The first was Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. I took several design courses and art classes in Korean and English. When I got back to the US, I attended Umpqua Community College in Roseburg. I tired of living with the folks and move to Roseburg and later to Portland where I attended Mt Hood Community College and then wrapped things up at Portland State University with a Commercial Art degree. The rest of my education has the University of Trial and Error with a major in Hard Knocks. Workplace I think that I'll just give you a chronological laundry list of the jobs I've had over the years with a wrap up of where I am today, okay? Here goes; English teacher, Ranch Hand, 7-Eleven goof off, Gift wrapper, retail sales person, Jewelry Sales person, Jewelery Store asst. mgr, Jewelery Store manager, Advertising sales manager, Pizza delivery, waiter (several different restaurants), CNA, CMA, PT asst., CNA Staffing Co-ordinator, t-shirt printer, Graphic artist for t-shirt printer, full time graphics artist, manager of a t-shirt company and design firm, Owner of graphic design firm, Assistant creative director of advertising agency, Internet Administrator, and now an Art Director. *whew* That brings you current to the present day. I'm sure I forgot a couple of things, but no biggie. I presently still own that graphics company I mentioned, called Blue Moose Graphics and you can find my site at bluemoosegraphics.com I also work as an Internet Administrator for Holt International Children's Services and you can see my handy work there at holtinternational.org Currently I serve as the Creative services Director for Holt International.
