Brian's Story

Update Dec 29, 2008. I keep getting an email from classmates saying someone is requesting my story to update. So here it is. ****************** Well, lets see, I did a 180 from the person I was in HS. After high school, instead of going to College like I probably should have, I went straight to work. I spent most of my 20s learning who I was, and changing much of my belief structure around. Everything from my religious and political beliefs, to general persona. I came out of my shell at around 20 and discovered I had a new found confidence. This coupled with my quirky sense of humour usually put me in the middle of some crazy party or dance club. Oh, I learned how to dance at some point also. Shortly after turning 21, I decided to go to school and major in criminal justice. I also learned I was a good singer and at the same time spent my nights singing karaoke, or open mic nights and any gig I could play. Good times. Met my future wife around 24 or so, right before I went off to the Army. Got all the way through basic and AIT, when I got hurt and electe...Expand for more
d to get out on a general discharge. Went crazy, partied hard, dyed my hair, got some tats, got into computers, gained a love for travel, rekindled my relationship with the woman who would be my wife and 6 years later I had a son. Worked at NASA for a while but having a son killed our finances, so we got married and I went off to Afghanistan for three years. Came back to the States, lived in Iowa and ran a million dollar IBM contract for a company called Aegon. Now I'm back in Afghanistan and will be returning home for the last time in 2012. Cliff notes? Those are the cliff notes, but the shortened version is that I was a shy, angry, slacker loner in HS, now I'm a hard working, accomplished, life-of-the-party type who gets along with everyone and travels in any crowd. I have wanderlust and have traveled around the world, and still have many places I want to see. I'm still into culture and martial arts, but now play video games, and weight lift. If you want to know more, ask. I've done a lot of crazy things in my life but I'll save that for another time.
