Brian's Story

Life After AHS, I spent the next 14 years in the Army, seeing the world, and fighting in the Gulf War of '91. A training accident wrecked my ankle and ended that career short. I then came home, spent a short time up in Alaska, then settled back here, when an old friend connected me with my current wife. We have two children (one hers from a prior) and one on the way. I've finally settled in to the long, boring, steady part of life. Go figure. Military I took basic at Ft.LeonardWood, MO, then served in Germany with the 703rd Maint.Bn. for two years. e 2nd Armored Division at Ft.Hood until 1989, when I reenlisted into the Bradley Infantry and returned to Germany. My unit, 6/6 Inf of the 1st Armored Division, was deployed into the Gulf War, were we fought the Iraqis. After, I came back to the States, first to Ft.Polk, LA, and then on to Ft.Hood, TX, with 2/7 Cav of the 1st Cavalry Division, where I moved into a vehicle commander position. I earned many awards during my career. It ended with a training accident that broke my ankle. I've had two surgeries on it, yet it still isn't back to strength, thus ending my military career.
