Brian's Story
After high school I went to San Antonio College for 3 years exploring different majors. Got an Associate of Arts from there but never settled on any one major. I decided to take a break from college. I had started training in martial arts the same time I was in SAC. My instructor was opening a branch location in Austin and offered me the job of manager. I managed that school for 3 years and then bought it from him and continued to teach martial arts full time...Expand for more
for 22 years. I then continued teaching at my school part time for another 24 years after I took a position as a mailman with US Postal Service. Retired from the USPS in 2019. Closed my studio at the end of 2020 due to the economic slowdown from COVID. Still teaching a couple days a week at one of my student’s school on the other side of town a couple of nights a week. Along the way in all of this I got married, had a couple of kids, and now have 3 grandkids.
