Brian's Story

Life I am Brian's wife, Amy. I posted Brian's profile on this website several months ago, but have not been really ready to complete it until now. It is still extremely difficult. Our boys and I miss him more than I can begin express. As most of you know, Brian passed away on July 11, 2005 from coronary arthlerosclerosis. He had 2 major artery blockages in his heart and it just couldn't work anymore. I wanted him on classmates in order that he may be remembered by his friends and classmates, and so if anyone wanted to know about him he would be here. Brian was wonderful. He truly was. He served the Dallas Fire Department for nearly 20 years, but had to be retired on a disability pension because he had severely injured his spine and was unable to perform the duties of a firefighter any longer. Brian was passionate about being a firefighter so it was major blow to him when he could no longer do what he loved. Brian and I met in 1992. This year would have marked 10 years of marriage. As every marriage, we had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade one second of the short time we had together, and would give anyting to hear his laugh, see his smile, and look into his eyes just one more time. We used to have so much fun together. We absolutely loved fishing, hunting, we loved our dogs. I always knew I was safe with him. Then of course we got married and are blessed with two beautiful precious little boys, ages 8 and 6. Our 8 year old is an absolute clone of Brian. Everything about him is Brian. He looks exactly like him, his mannerisms, the way he moves, the way he talks, even his eating habits (all sweets if I would let him get away with it). Brett, our 6 year old, becomes more and more like Brian every single day. Brian loved Brett's laugh. It is infectious. When Brett laughs, you can't help but get tickled, too. Both or our boys are very smart, good hearted, sweet, wonderful, amazing kids. For those of you who knew Brian growing up, you know he had a God given natural athletic ability that, from what I hear, it was incredible. Well, I ...Expand for more
can tell you this and without a mother's bias, Brian most definitley passed that ability on to both of our boys. Even at their young ages, they are incredible athletes, at any sport. They live to play the game, whatever it may be. Of course, just like their Daddy, they love basketball. After every game someone searches for me to ask if they are my boys and they tell me they are "blown away" at how good they are. Of course I am not surprised, and Brian wouldn't be either. I know how much fun we would have had watching them play and how proud he would be. Of course, I personally like to think he can see them from heaven and he is very proud of them in every way. We miss him so much. I really just wanted share with any of his friends, classmates, or anyone who may have lost touch with Brian over the years-- I really wanted all of you to know about him and what kind of person, father, husband, firefighter, just how special he was and how much he meant to not only me, but to so many people. He touched many lives. I am thankful and grateful for what he brought to my life. He was the love of my life. Not a day will go by for the rest of my life that I won't miss him. I hope you all remember the wonderful good fun person he was. If anyone has any of you have any childhood stories you would share, my little boys would love to hear them. I didn't have the opportunity to know Brian growing up, so I don't have those memories to pass along to the boys. I so want them to know as much as they can about their Daddy. They are so young, and I have to make certain they know all about him. They have to know they have a great Daddy and he loved them more than anything else in this world. So really, if you have any memories or stories to share please do. I would appreciate is so much. You can contact me through this website. I will be notified of any messages at my personal email address. I really want to hear anything any of you can share that our boys would like knowing. They need to know all they can about him and from the people that loved him. Thank you
