Brian's Story
Life
I went to IU and changed from ministry plans to teaching and studied to be an English teacher. I did my student teaching at Northside under Frank Stafford. I married my college sweetheart Karen McLaughlin (from Evansville) after graduation in 1971 and taught school and coached basketball in Modoc, IN.
I then escaped to Palm Beach County Florida. Lived there 35 years. Worked in the paint business with the Sherwin Williams company, the Benjamin Moore Co.,then opened my own store. Then I got into the Automobile business as a salesman and later as a ...Expand for more
Finance Manager, which is what I still do today.
We had two children, Nathan and Melissa. Both of them graduated from the University of Florida. Nathan teaches school in Tulsa, OK and Melissa runs a State Government Dept in Tallahassee, FL.
Karen passed away in 1998 after a battle with cancer.
I remarried in 2002 to a wonderful lady, Daisy. Between us we have five children. Our daughter, Janaina lives with us. The others have spread out across the country and world.
We remain in south Florida. I love the ocean, playing tennis, kayaking, fishing.
