Life
After ESS I spent a year in Peterborough followed by a BA at U of T. After that I did an MA in Historical Geography of Ancient Israel at the American Institute of Holy Land Studies in Jerusalem (now Jerusalem University College). Returning to Canada, I spent a year with my parents - who by that time had moved to Calgary. I attended University of Calgary part-time and spent time learning to ski and generally getting to know western Canada. During the Winter Olympics I took a job at the Chateau Lake Louise Hotel.
In 1988, I returned to Toronto to do another Master's at Wycliffe College at U of T. For the next five summers or so, I returned to Calgary to work for Gulf Canada Resources. Following...Expand for more
my M.Rel., I did a PhD in Old Testament at St. Mike's. In 1992, I married a wonderful girl I met while in Calgary. We now have two sweet little boys. After graduating in 1999, we moved to the States (New Jersey) where I taught at a theological seminary in Lower Manhattan. I began teaching just north of the World Trade Center a few weeks before 9/11. New York is a remarkable city - less than a 10-hour drive from Mississauga - and I would highly recommend a visit.
In August 2004, we returned to Canada where I took up a position teaching Old Testament at Knox College, a Presbyterian seminary in the University of Toronto. We are now living back in Mississauga, just a few miles from where we started.
