Brian's Story

Well, after a 25+ year search, I finally found the Cambria of my youth in Northern California. My wife Lisa and I moved to Humboldt County in 1998 and built our dream house in Ferndale, 2003. Ferndale is known as the "Victorian Village" for it's Main Street architechture. Town has a population of 800, with lots of beef/dairy ranches in the surrounding areas. It also has a large Portugese and Swiss Italian contingent, and reminds me alot of Cambria in the 70's. After finishing up a degree in nursing at Cal State Northridge, we moved to Santa Rosa where I worked at a local community hospital. I currently work for State Dept. of Health Services, case managing catastrophically ill and injured Medi-Cal patients (statewide, the program saves taxpayers 8-12 million/year...Expand for more
!). Lisa works in administration for the Senior Resource Center in Eureka, the largest city in the area at 30,000 people. I've also been able to indulge in my lifetime passion for drag racing, as we have a 1/4 mile racing facility up here on the Samoa Peninsula. I first raced my 1967 Pontiac Firebird in Sportsman class in 2003, and have finished in the top 5 each year since. In 2007, I finished 3nd place in the points chase, and hope next year to again contend for the track Championship. I am really thankful that I grew up in a place like Cambria, and around such a great bunch of people. Here's wishing everyone all the best life has to offer....Brian
