Brian's Story
Brian's schools include Pelham District High School . Brian works(ed) as an Evangelist With the Church Of Christ In Bancroft, Ontario, Canada. Following High School Brian worked with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in a management training position, left there after six and one half months for Foster Wheeler in St. Catharines, Ontario. In less than three years and advancing through several different positions on the Office and Clerking Staff, Brian headed for an office position with General Motors, Engine Plant in St. Catharines. A salaried staff lay-off resulted in Brian leaving there for John Deere Welland Works where he advanced from Catalog Writer to Technical Writer and Photographer in just over three and one half years. He married his beloved Laverna (Gare) Sullivan on August 4, 1967 and they continued as husband and wife until earlier this year (April 20, 2014) when she died very suddenly of a massive coronary at age 65 (almost 66). na moved to their first full-time evangelistic work in Glencoe, Ontario. The day Laverna passed from us was also the beginning of our 44th year of full-time preaching work in Ontario. We have preached in Glencoe, Bancroft, Fort Erie, Wellandport, London, and now back to Bancroft (in our 10th year here now). In his Bancroft days (the first time we were here) Brian spent time hosting a Saturday morning Swap Shop on the local radio station and did other radio work in his preaching and to fill-in at times for others at the local station. He also pursued and received his auctioneer's licence and continues to work from time to time with another local auctioneer as his spell-off man or on bigger sales we sometimes split the crowd and both sell simultaneously. Laverna and I were blessed with four living children, and have the pleasure of four grandchildren (two in Ontario and two in Tennessee, where our youngest son preaches full-time).
