Brian's Story
I left Rockdale in 1967 to attend Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, TX. In 1969 I moved to Houston to attend the University of Houston and I've lived here ever since. I spent over 25 years (1974-1999) doing news for radio stations in Houston - KLOL, KILT, KRBE, KTRH, KLYX, and KPRC. I got out of the business in 1999 to work for the Houston Parks and Recreation Department doing media relations and serving as the City Council Liaison for the Department. During my time at the Parks Department the Houston Zoo was privatized in 2002 and I joined the Zoo as their Director of Public and Media Relations. It was the best gig i ever had. I retired in 2014.
