Bruce's Story
Life
I've worked in law enforcement for the past twenty years (LA County Sheriff and currently Riverside County Sheriff). I'm a sergeant, working patrol in the Perris area. Karen and I have lived in Murrieta, CA since 1989 and love the southwest county area. My kids are all grown now, with my baby just graduating from MVHS. I have two grandchildren (Austin and McKenna) whom I love dearly and enjoy spending time with. I just bought a Harley and plan on doing a lot of riding in the next few years with Karen. My middle boy, Aaron, just got accepted to the Navy SEAL's program and I'm very proud of him. Jonathan, my eldest, just got out of the Navy and served in the war from its inception, stationed on the Theodore Roosevelt. He finished his tour of duty on the new Ronald Reagan. Karen, my bride of twenty five years, works for KB Homes in Del Mar. My favorite passion is still dove and quail hunting, which I've done with my brother-in-law (Mike Quintrel) since we were sixteen. I love scuba diving, lifting weights, working out, riding my Harley, and staying in touch with friends. In fact, I just went to Dixie Minnesang's (Olson) 50th birthday celebration and spent an evening with Dixie, Otis Gilmore, Mike and Bev. Wish more of the old gang could have been there.
UPDATE (01/14/08): I was transferred to the Temecula Station and worked as the training sergeant for the past year. Last year I finally completed my Bachelor of Science degree (wow, only took 33 years). I'm currently working on my Masters; okay, some of us are late bloomers. My son Aaron is back from Pensacola and...Expand for more
is stationed in Coronado and he blessed us with a new grand daughter Ryan Paige Anderson. I turn 52 at the end of this month and I can't figure out where the time went. I wish all of you a blessed and healthy 2008.
UPDATE (11/03/11): I've spent the last two years working at the Coroner's Bureau, which was very fascinating. I'm now assigned to Sheriff's Court Services - Central Division (SCS-CEN). I now claim ten, yes ten grandchildren (Kaitlin -13; Austin - 9; Jordan - 9; McKenna - 7; Ryan- 3; Zander - 2; Ella & Emma - 2; Aylin - 1; and Mia - 6mos. They are a fantastic bunch and I love them all dearly. Only four more years til retirement...
UPDATE 09/23/22: I've been retired now for 6 years, but still working part time with my old partner (Mike Pino) at MPA, doing background investigations in the Southern California region. We added one more granddaughter (Harley) for a total of eleven (9 girls and 2 boys); three have already graduated from high school; the eldest (Katelyn) followed her father and has been serving in the Navy as a Corpsman for the past 5 years. Karen was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in 2016, but has been cancer free for 6 years now,,,(she is my hero). I sold my Harley, we bought a motorhome and love traveling and visiting our grandchildren. Absolutely love being retired.....The GGHS Surf Club is still alive and well; Gary Dufresne, Larry Wheeland, Jack Sutter, and I are still conducting (somewhat) quarterly meetings,,,we're still waiting on Scott Byington, and a few others to come join us. Wishing all of my friends and family the best......Bruce
