Bruce's Story
Bruce Bergh (Dr. MIDI) is a composer of Contemporary Christian and Pop style music, focusing on memorable melody lines and vocal harmony with a positive message. Bergh has written hundreds of songs, commercial music and jingles, as well as arranged music for a large number of clients through the years at his Chicago, Indiana, and Missouri recording studios. As a professor of Music Technology Bergh has taught in several universities, done clinician work for MTNA, MENC, and NAMM conventions, and founded the Bergh Institute of Music Technology and DrMIDI dot com.
Bergh studied at Sherwood Music School and the University of Chicago with a four year full-ride scholarship in music education and piano performance. He has been involved in the keyboard manufacturing business since 1978, with diverse responsibilities from Artist-Clinician to VP of Sales and Marketing. The list of his employers is a whoâÂÂs-who within the music industry.
Concurrently, Bergh founded BIMT Piano Service and operated three recording studios, assuming the responsibilities of owner, producer, arranger, conductor, engineer and talent. ous bands or groups in in cities all over North America. BerghâÂÂs natural talent for marketing, advertising and turning a phrase was a beneficial advantage during the mid-eighties when he spent time creating corporate jingles for radio and television. During the same time, Bergh was the substitute organist for the Chicago Cubs playing for Harry Caray and the WGN Communications Group. He has written and produced numerous recording projects in the contemporary Christian music market as well as served at several churches as a worship leader since 1993.
In the fall of 1999 Bergh founded the Bergh Institute of Music Technology in the Kansas City market. In 2001, he added a subsidiary: DrMIDI a web-based conference-video curriculum for the internet, which offers music lesson video downloads and private instruction via web-cam. Bergh is currently in the process of developing a new video MIDI web-camera and publishing a new piano method and arrangement books for the music education and church communities.
Bruce Bergh Is the Director of Sales and Marketing for WebOnly Piano.com in Hollywood, CA, and currently resides in the Chicagoland area. He is the proud father of five children. Dena, Harmony, Dustin, Kyle, and Megan.
