Bruce's Story
on dec 24 2008, at 6.35am becky bryan my wife of 28 years passed away of brain cancer..... i miss her greatly , iam writing a lot of this in my grief so if i ramble on its part of the journey in the grief,, must go on for my kids... i have been thinking about our old friends , like kenny golden , jim fine , derek moore, brad morrow...................... i have three kids bruce jr. 31 he has 4 kids andrea 22 she is married and graduated form college with a biology degree and is now working on masters in nursing, my youngest is david .he is 20 years old and working for an advertising company in graphic design in Portland oregon , we live in a little town in the foot hills of the cascade mountains called colton .. becky and i are still married 28 years she is a teacher in the town of molalla . i have been working on starting a new business as a fitness trainer / adventure guide ...i have been white water rafting and hiking a lot ....iam not ready to give up on living life to it fullest yet ....love to here form my old friends...bruce.latest up date my wife becky just got cancer in june 2008 in nov got brain cancer .........................................,i wonder if any of my class mate know my story of high school ,i graduated not being able to read at all, never went to a class other than PE ,ART, and AUTO and HE ,when i graduated my councilor say bruce you need to go dig ditches ,you have never really gone to school , so i went to santa ana jc right out of high school and could not even read the road signs and went to classes ,i could remember every thing the teacher said so i had my girl friend read my home work on tape and i listened to them ,i told the teacher tell me what it says and i will tell you the answer ,and so i passed my first quarter of college with a D- ,the next thing that happened was real strange ....at this time i was working out with the US Olympic track team and living at a old house my grandparents use to live in they where both dead and i was living a lone their and every ...Expand for more
night the lights work turn on and off and things would move around in the house ,so i did not get much sleep scene the house was haunted ,so one day i was working out with the Olympic team and one of the guys said bruce you look like you are not getting any sleep and i told them the story and they said we can help you ,so that night they came over and opened up all the widows and doors and told the spirits to leave in jesus name and they did ,i did not know any thing about jesus so the next day they told me he had power over even the unseen world ,and they ask me if i wanted him in my life to lead me and help me ,so i said yes ,well what happen next was a just as strange ,one of the guys came over the next day and brought a bible and was going to have me read some each day .i told him that i could not read and he was wasting his time ,but he keep trying to get me to read ,so i tried and the moment i said , in the beginning ,i felt like i was struck by lightning and with in 6 months i was reading 13 grade level so i went on the graduate from college with a 3.65 gpa kind of strange journey i have been on ,many many stories of my journey. so i miss a lot of what went on in high school ..............................................................
i just found this letter of beckys in one of her diary's the day after she died,,,dear bruce ,,, how many times will i say "i love you" with out you growing tired of the phase? never i hope...how many times will i be able to lean on you for support and understanding , without the fear that you wont be there? forever i hope...how many nights will i go to sleep with your arm around me keeping me safe and warm? and how may mornings will i wake to find that same arm holding me just as tight? an never ending amount i hope...how many times will i look up to your eyes and see them shine and say to me . "i love you too honey"...i love you more than you can possibly imagine!! we've grown closer and closer yet i feel like i'll never lose the need to know more about you....merry Christmas to you!! i read this letter at her funnel ,i found it the day before ....writen in 1979 before we where married...
