Bruce's Story
After graduation, I worked at Alliance Mfg until I enlisted in the U.S. Navy where I served as a Radarman & Electronic Warfare technician. This gave me the opportunity to visit places like Hawaii, Japan, Subic Bay in the Philippines, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and two tours off the coast of Vietnam as part of the âTonkin Gulf Yacht Clubâ. I was aboard the largest yacht in the Tonkin Gulf - the USS Enterprise CVA(N) 65. d for 2 ½ years as a computer programmer at the Cuyahoga County data center in Cleveland. In 1979, while on a 5-week motorcycle trip to California I was able to get a job working for Firemanâs Fund Insurance Companies in San Rafael, CA as a computer programmer until I retired.
My hobbies are motorcycling and woodworking. I have ridden in 38 of the lower 48 states and 2 providences of Canada on various motorcycles. I am currently riding a 1985 BMW K100RS that I have owned for almost 30 years and have over 179,000 miles on it. I have owned 4 BMW motorcycles and have accumulated over 325,000 miles on them.
