Earlier this summer we finally started flying into Boston and this month I had a 22 hour overnight. If you live there you already know but if you don't,this city is like no other and I can't wait to get back to Beantown. I managed to get out and walk the Freedom Trail while I was there. This is an historic path that covers about two and a half miles in each direction where you view most of the historical sites that the city has to offer. I saw such places as the Old North Church,Paul Reveres house,Boston Common,Faneuil Hall,the Boston Massacre Site,and the Kings Chapel Burying Ground.It was an Indian summer day in November so shorts and a tee shirt were the dress code for the day. The subway system was not only convienent but inexpensive and clean and got us to and from the hotel in about 15 minutes time.However the stop of the day had to be Mike's Pastries where I couldn't leave without sampling the Boston Creme Pie. Mike's has a web site and they do ship. Be forewarned though,Boston is a very expensive city. Take lots of money. The area around Faneuil Hall does have a great selection of different foods at reasonable prices though. Star sightings! It never ceases to amaze me how many well known and recognizable people fly us. And it seems to come and go in spells. You can go a long time without recognizing anybody and then it'll seem like you recognize different celebrities or artists everytime you turn around.
