Bruce's Story
Hi to all you old schoolmates! I worked for about 20 years out of AHS as a mechanic, broke a couple vertebrae at work, quit and went to college for the third try, Got 4.0's at WSU, went to Chiropractic school in S.C., graduated Summa Cum Laude, and have been living as a Chiropractor with my wife as Office Manager for 32 years. I still like Hot Rods but don't have any, have been joyously married to Shelley for 45 years and have had 3 kids since 1983. Our first daughter was killed in a car wreck by a wrong lane driver at age 3, Our son Ryan is a great young man with spirit, talent, and drive. Our daughter has many of the artistic tools as our son plus a lot of talent managing projects and purchasing the component for a large tech firm building controller for electronic equipment. have become. Both live close enough to see regularly and fun to have around.
Ryan talked me into returning to TaeKwon-do in 1995 so we both got our first Dan black belts five years later, me at age 50, Ryan at 14 (at 6-4' 240 lbs.) Sometime early on I got a genetically rare heart, many problems over the years, and 20 trips to the E.R. to reset my atrial fibrillation. There is nothing like waking up to the smell of burned chest hair (better than not waking)!
Shelley and I live in a nicely restored 3 bedroom farmhouse in Ferndale WA. on about 1/2 acre so I have a nice organic garden to play in, still fix most of my own car necessities, and volunteer a lot with the Kiwanis Club of Bellingham to help with all sorts of children-centered projects in our community. Life is pretty mellow and we could use an occasional visitor from the past.
