Bruce's Story

Revised: 06/23/09 Jonetta (Bogle) and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary next year. We have a sixteen-year old daughter and still live in Donelson. Jonetta and I both graduated from UTK (she was #1 in her class of 1,300+; I was in the top half of my class). She is an elementary school counselor and I am an attorney. I have my own practice located in Madison on the Rivergate Mall perimeter, behind Toys-R-Us. I mostly handle personal injury, criminal defense, uncontested divorces and adoptions. I've been in the same building for nearly fifteen years. I also sit (part-time) as a Night Court Commissioner in Nashville; now that's an interesting place! I've remained mostly healthy, except for kidney stones and the hidden threats of all persons needing to shed a few pounds. Jonetta is in remission from non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which was discoverd in August, 2008. I wore my hair in a long ponytail for over ten years as an attorney and had it trimmed a couple of years ago due to family pressure and being accused by my daughter of looking like Charles Manson. Hobbies include reading, camping, traveling and concerts. I (proudly) average less than 50 hours of TV annually and feel none-the-worse fo...Expand for more
r it. After all of the years spent in the the large boat business, we bought a self-contained motor home a few years ago and love it. We've been dozens of times to FL and NC, several times to Montana and Maine, Michigan's "U.P." and at age 50, I finally saw the Grand Canyon. We are looking for property on coastal Maine for retirement, which will hopefully happen when our daughter gets out of high school....make that college. I occasionally see and talk to some of the old D.H.S. and McGavock crew, most regularly Janet (Bowden) Frazier, Bill Yankee (living in Wyoming) and Gary Anderson (living in Lexington, TN). I see DHS's (Judge) Randy Kennedy monthly in (his) Court. I can't believe that I'm north of 55 y/o and that I'm still working as many hours. I guess that the self-employed thing is not for everyone, but it allows us to travel a couple of months a year, so what can I say? To quote two of my late favorites, John Lennon: "Nobody told me there'd be days like these." and Jerry Garcia: "What a long, strange trip it's been."
